Si pasáramos por enfrente de su escaparate pensaríamos que es una tienda de decoración con mucho encanto, pero detrás de cada mueble, hay una historia y una esperanza. Cada artista que desarrolla y elabora el trabajo artesanal es una persona con discapacidad intelectual.
En L’estoc, quieren dar visibilidad y mostrar la realidad de las personas discapacitadas, solo en Cataluña hay registradas cerca de 378.000 personas con discapacidad y el 10,6% con discapacidad intelectual, con este proyecto intentan ayudar a la integración social de personas con riesgos de exclusión.
Todas las piezas que se trabajan en el taller de carpintería son piezas de diseño únicas y vienen de vertederos o de empresas que ya no hacen uso de algunos productos, con lo que sus artistas reciclan y dan una segunda oportunidad a estas piezas.
Si tienes la oportunidad de visitarlos deberías hacerlo, no solo por la magnifica exposición sino también porque podrás ver a los artistas durante el proceso creativo, ya que el taller es un anexo a la tienda.

If you walk by the shop window you will think, what a charming decoration shop. But each piece of furniture have a story of hope and opportunity. Each artist in this lovely place is a person with intellectual disabilities.
The goal of L’estoc is to give visibility and show the reality of disabled people, only in Catalonia, there are about 378,00 people with disabilities and 10,6% with intellectual disabilities, this project also intended to help the social integration of people with risk situations of social exclusion.
All the pieces working in the carpentry workshop are unique designs, and come from landfill sites or companies that no longer make use of some products, so the artists recycle and give a second chance to every piece.
If you have the opportunity to visit you should do it, not only for the magnificent exhibition but also because you can see the artists during the creative process, as the workshop is an annex to the shop.
